Anti Ragging Committee activity report 2021-22

Constitution of Anti Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squad.

As per the directions of the UGC, the Anti Ragging Committee for the academic year 2021-22 was constituted with the Principal, Dr O.K. Udayakumar as the Chairman and Vasana R, Assistant Professor, Department of English as the convenor. The Committee consisted of representatives of Civil and Police administrations, local media, NGO, teachers, parents and students. The Committee was entrusted with the overall monitoring and supervision of the anti ragging activities of our college.

The Anti Ragging Squad for the year 2021-22, was also constituted with the Vice Principal, Dr Preetha B, Associate professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry, as the coordinator. The members of the Squad include the Heads of all Departments, NSS Coordinators, NCC Coordinator, Warden, representatives of the students of both UG and PG levels. The Anti-Ragging Squad was assigned the duty to be vigilant and to conduct surprise raids and submit reports of any untoward incident in this regard, to the Anti Ragging Committee for further action.

The contact details of the members of both Anti Ragging Committee and The Anti Ragging Squad were displayed on the official notice boards of all the departments and  the college office.

Orientation programmes

The faculty members of the Committee, successfully conducted orientation classes for the students of both UG and PG levels of our college, to make them aware of the UGC regulations, regarding prevention of ragging activities in college campuses and also the legal consequences, if they indulge in such activities.

Installation of UGC approved bill boards

In order to ensure a ragging free campus, UGC approved posters were installed, at prominent places of the college campus.

Online submission of undertakings

Students of both UG and PG levels of the current academic year, submitted online undertakings on the UGC’s Anti Ragging web portal, www.antiragging.in.
